The history of MANUEL SERRA dates back to 1927, and is based on a family background linked to the cork production industry. Today, the fifth generation is still making natural cork stoppers with the same respect for tradition as in those days. With the same devotion to detail and a job well done. And with the most cutting-edge technology, to offer quality to the service of good wine.

We have our headquarters and facilities at Cassà de la Selva (Girona), a cork-producing municipality at the beginning of Les Gavarres, one of Catalonia’s main cork oak areas, with the longest tradition of cork stopper production.

In 2002, MANUEL SERRA moved to the industrial estate where it is currently located, and extended its facilities, thus enabling it to integrate the entire production process and strengthen its Quality Control department.

In this natural and entrepreneurial ecosystem, MANUEL SERRA was founded almost 100 years ago now. And we are still there today, drinking from tradition and committed to technology, at the service of the best wine.



To produce our stoppers, we rigorously select the cork sheets taken from the best cork oaks in Andalusia and Extremadura, and from the Mediterranean forests of Valencia and Catalonia.

Only by loving, respecting and maintaining the biodiversity of the cork oak mountain areas will we be able to enjoy a long future and improve the quality of the cork stopper day by day. We only transform a noble and natural material such as cork, and we turn it into an unbeatable stopper for wines.

Quality, understood from the origin of the raw material, controlling the entire process from forest to bottle, and applying the maximum technology to a sustainable industry.

We supply local and international winegrowers and wineries, and much of our production goes for export, with a special presence in the European market.
